From the A49 approaching from the North / Warrington / M56, Junction 10.
Take the A49 south. After about 5 miles ( 8 km ) you will pass over the River Weaver at Acton swing bridge. Shortly after this take the slip road left into B5142 (Sandy Lane). At the top of the hill you will come to the Hanging Gate pub, turn left onto the B5153 (High Street), signposted for Northwich. Continue along the High Street, past the Wheatsheaf . Stay on the main road past the shops, this is now Nortwich Rd; Wallerscote school is about 500 yds/metres further on, on the left.
From the A49 approaching from the South
Follow the A49 as far as the Weaverham Roundabout. Take the second exit onto the B5142 ( West Road ) and bear left into the village. Follow the road as far as the Hanging Gate pub, turn right onto the B5153 (High Street), signposted for Northwich. Continue along the High Street, past the Wheatsheaf . Stay on the main road past the shops, this is now Nortwich Rd; Wallerscote school is about 500 yds/metres further on, on the left
From Northwich
Take the B5153 to Weaverham. At the Grange School roundabout take the second exit ( straight on ). You will pass through a short stretch of green belt. On entering Weaverham the first school on your right is St Bedes Catholic Primary School, carry on past this. Wallerscote School is about 500 yds/metres further on, also on the right.
From the M6 Northbound.
Leave at J18 and take the A54 towards Middlewich. At the roundabout, just you reach Middlewich, take the third exit to Northwich. Follow the A530 as far as the Northwich Bypass and turn left onto the dual carriageway, taking the A556 towards Chester.
Follow the A556 as far as the traffic lights at the crossroads with the A49, then turn right and follow the instructions for the A49 approaching from the South.
Those with local knowledge can leave the A556 earlier and wend their way through Hartford to join the B5153 from Northwich.
From Chester
Take the A51. At Tarvin take the A54. After Kelsall take the A556. Follow the A556 until you reach the traffic lights at the crossroads with the A49. Turn left towards Warrington, then follow the instructions for the A49 approaching from the South.
From Sale and Altrincham
Follow the A556 towards Northwich. I advise not taking the Northwich turn off ( A559 ) but continue along the A556 Northwich bypass. Follow the A556 as far as the traffic lights at the crossroads with the A49, then turn right and follow the instructions for the A49 approaching from the South.
